i use the gefell m930 love it - super quiet, very nice, handles loud spl well, and relatively small size replaced the u87 in daily chores - we've used it on a variety of things - voice acting is the majority of our work - but we haven't found any instruments where it doesn't sound good -from violin ...

I've run 75 ft before over a regular audio snake - going from the 5 pin din to a 3 pin xlr and back (outer 2 pins on a midi cable are spec'd to carry non data neeeds, power and such, so no data loss) worked great but i felt like i got away with it, never had the occasion to try longer runs might be ...

i just recently completed a speaker shoot out including the bm6amkii's bench mark was a pair of PMC LB1's with a hafler p3000 trans nova amp - we have 6 rooms like this so we needed to match as best we could - the lb1's are out of production our concerns aren't loud music - we work in sound design, ...

i mounted some to a pair of 1 X 2 strips of wood and attach the wall 2 benefits - 1 is easy install, easy removal 2 is increased "control"properties of the foam - the gap behind the foam supposedly increases the absorbtion - looks pretty good too btw - may want to go with wider wood pending the thic...

thanks guys i should mention this is not for picture - it is a music release anyway - tracking works pretty well this way from stems takes some time and a fair number of speakers and reflections to make it interesting project is on hold while i finish a few others but it is fun to create the live vibe

hey all i'm in the middle of doing a dvd mix and i keep thinking that there has to be another way to deal - lots of the material has good stereo mixes -and the rest is new i'm mixing from part specific stems on computer - protools or dp pending the studio i choose(or home) was thinking about firing ...

well i for one would like to see some spectral or partial based editing added to the DAWs - so i can edit vertically instead of just linear - a couple of academic attempts out there got me really excited - but once that opens up - then we're at some really cool shit - lots of great musician ship out...

lol i was mixing this week out of the box... my routing of some tracked synth sound thru 3 different auxs - couple of lexicon delays and a nicely filtered reverb via an eventide dsp 7000 - back into to channels so i could play the delays as feedback loops - got so outta control had to go back inside...
