I saw them live in mpls 10/10 and their drummer was fantastic. These guys totally brought down the house. All the fills seemed to be played very accurately. I was thinking of a particular fill in the 1st song on Easybeat. I'd love to see the live version! Also the main singer/guitarist tended to tu...

Those interviews shed a lot of light on the Dr. Dog records. The overdubbed drums explain a lot of the drum fills.

I love those guys!

I forgot that one! Great record, amazing guitar tones!
For me, 2007 was all about the short record. The Deerhoof, Spoon and Dr. Dog were all nice little concise packages, about a half hour each I think. No filler!

Terrible news. J Church were a real important band for me. In high school, my music diet was 90% Descendents and Ramones. Lance started me on a journey that led to discovering a lot of other shit. I still say five stars on Prophalaxis!

Disc one Track four is of interest. IMO, four discs is a little excessive.

One thing in particular I'm really looking for advice on is recording clean guitars. That is to say, getting good sounds from clean (non-distorted) electric guitars. Tracks 2 and 5 on the EP seem, I dunno, "washy" for lack of a better term.

lonely the seabird - free online EP

Hi there. For my band's second release, we decided to do a free online EP thingy. --> http://www.lonelytheseabird.net/50yrs.aspx <-- Please let us know what you think. I'm by no means a recording expert, but I do feel like it's a strong improvement over our noisier 1st album. It was recorded in Adob...

I have a beginner question:

Would drum replacement be of any use if I'm recording an entire drum kit to 3 tracks? In other words, would the entire beat be played on a kick drum, or something?

(I'm still fairly limited in my mic setup)
