There was talk and and a petition for Wavelab going to mac. But it's just that unfortuantly, just talk. The creator of wavelab says he has no plans for writing code for mac. Bombastique listed all of your choices, it's pretty sad actually.

Guilford of Maine has some good stuff but a tad bit on the expensive side, compared to burlap.

The Mackie inserts accept signal from -10 to +4. The inserts are pre fader and pre eq. Clicked half way in... hmmm, click it in so the tip is just in. I can't find anything in any manual anywhere that says that the inserts are +4 or -10. The line ins are but nothing on the channel inserts. I found ...

I've heard good things about the Audix TR-40 and Superlux ECM999. Haven't tested them myself but the Superlux can be had for about $100.
