as much as the dream makes it seem that everybody will be equal and all will be working for the same thing.....

.... that dream is almost never the case in reality.

Have fun.... its not a job, its an adventure!

Fans are good.

I like how the Manley gear has perforated metal on the top and bottom of most of its gear to allow air flow. I've removed the top/bottom from a couple things that I have to get more air flowing through the gear.

Ditto on the ATM-23 and ATM-25. Great mics! great sound, great rejection and really easy to get into position with the short body/built in mount.

older lightweight drums with thinner shells tend to sound good in the studio.
(or newer versions of above)
newer heavyweight drums w heavy hardware seem to be made to withstand breaking down and setting them up all the time.

I used to have one and it was great. I left the vari-speed wide open as fast as it would go. Use the best quality cassettes you can find.

Really flexible setup w the extra channels/returns and all.

I've got the Waves Restoration thing over at my studio. It kicks a lot of ass on noise.

Bias makes a couple similar plugs they call "soundsoap"

here's a link to a trial version

A few months ago I got a new computer for my home rig. old one was a round base iMac 700 w the orig 828 interface. It had gotten too slow to be any fun plus I couldn't bring 96K files home from the studio to do edits and such. Got an Intel iMac 24" dual 2.15 w 3 gig of RAM. I'm running PT 7.3 and DP...

using the "38% Rule" your rig would probably sound better if your desk was in the same spot just turned around 180 degrees.

Those Sonys are pretty cool. They have several different EQ's that they made including a good graphic. Parts are available and you can find more of those API "s" series EQ's for the board.
