I don't have anything particularly helpful to add, but I wouldn't worry that the CD manufacturer sold you out. My stuff is all over those sites, from all manner of sources (promos / compilation albums / my own releases / vinyl only material etc etc) It seems that alot of the time they don't actually...

great, thanks guys. 2 follow-up questions: 1- would this work for room-to-room runs, the longest one being about 30 ft?: http://www.redco.com/shopexd.asp?id=501 or would it be better to go with "install" cable?: http://www.redco.com/shopexd.asp?id=499 2- is there a sort of "snake" tube that would a...

There was an OS9 version (and I used to use it alot) but it's never made it to OSX. We need a TapeOp friendly coder to port it :)

Definitely look at using trains, especially in Germany - ?ber efficient, and reasonably priced. Shame the same doesn't quite apply in the UK :) Also, car hire might be an idea - distances are probably not as great as you'd think, autobahns / motorways are fast, but toll charges can add up in Germany...

I'm guessing you want something low-watt with the models you listed. I'm not sure how expensive they are these days, but my favorite Fender head is a Showman. You can probably find one in your budget. I'm not sure how it would sound for bass... It's a fricking monster, but the Ampeg V4B is pretty s...

Re: Tips for emulating tape delay?

For a current project I need some tape delay for vocals, ideally without using plugins. Problem: I do not have north of ?500 for a Space Echo. I do have a Memory Boy analogue delay pedal on the way. If I add a moderate amount of chorus/vibrato will this get closer to a tape delay sound? Thought abo...

SH101?

You might get lucky and grab a SH101 for that sort of money. They're mostly the wrong side of 200 quid here in the UK here these days, but the (limited) arp is lots of fun, and can be triggered by the old Roland drum boxes (eg. TR606 or the cheaper TR626, which also has midi) for some TB303-esque la...

I'm not a pianist or keyboard player, but the Yamaha Clavinova digital pianos always felt pretty good to me in terms of weighted keys. Plenty of those around second-hand (at least in the UK :) ) Onboard sounds are OK, full midi capabilities too though if you wanted to use as a controller ...

My plan is to talk a talented drummer I know into being a guinea pig. Ha! It's pretty unbelievable that, with the number of posts you got, that only you (and Roscoe to a certain extent) were the only ones to address the absolute of the whole thing. You gotta have a great drummer! I don't know that ...
