Gear rental suggestions

Hey everybody, I'm looking for some suggestions for a couple pieces to rent to round out my gear selection for some recording. The band is a 4 piece indie/pop/rock type band with female vox, keys, guitar, bass, drums. As far as actual musical gear goes, we've got great stuff and the option to borrow...

I love Reaper! Learning how to operate it on a basic level was super easy and after 3 years of using it there's still plenty that it can do that I haven't tapped into.

Installing a grounded plug in old SS Fender spring reverb

http://www.mediafire.com/?aqpc3b2yqp3cj2j Can someone please advise me on how to do this correctly? So far I have hooked up hot to hot, neutral to neutral, mounted the ground wire to a bolt on the chassis and connected it to the ground bar of the circuit. I have succeeded in creating a rather loud ...

It sounds like most likely your neck pickup is microphonic as you said. I'd say replace it. Pickups aren't that expensive! If you're on a super tight budget, check out guitarfetish.com. Their shit is super cheap and decent sounding for what it is. Otherwise, there is a pretty wide selection of choic...

As a follow up: I fixed it by using the 2N5088. Thanks again for everyone's assistance! I now have spring reverb again, wooo!

I've also had the ATH-M40's for about 6 years and they still work well. Ditto what Mudcloth said about the stuff flaking off. It was really annoying for a while, though is pretty much all gone now. Same deal, home studio, intermittent use, though I've also taken them out tour for months and they sur...

well, I checked out the NTE site and found the NTE96 to be the replacement for the 2N5005. They go for $39.68 apiece on Mouser so I'm assuming that's not the one. Gonna roll with the 2N5088, which are $0.37 apiece and see how it works.

Many thanks to everyone who has chimed in. Now I have another question. In the circuit I'm troubleshooting, one of the bipolar transistors seems to be testing bad. I'm pretty sure it says either 2N5085, 2N5086, or 2N5088, but the text is faded. Its definitely an NPN transistor. 2N5088 seems to be th...

thanks for your feedback guys. finleysound: I ended up compressing and eq'ing the bass a bit more to even it out, as well sending the kick and snare to a parallel buss with some compression to give them some more punch. Nick: The darkness of the mix was partially intentional. After thinking about yo...

Testing transistors!

I'm learning how to test transistors, a step in my quest for electronics knowledge. I can't figure out what S, D, and G stand for as opposed to B, C, and E. Are they just different abbreviations for the same thing?
