Sound for Film schools

I've been looking around for a school with a program for sound for film that also includes a fair amount of film work along with sound training. Looking for a 4 year degree. Anywhere in the country is fine. Any ideas?

why not an ADAT laptop card?

Why doesn't someone make a PCMCIA card for a laptop that just has an ADAT optical I/O on it? No breakout box, or useless crap, just a card. Anyone know of one? Closest thing I've ever seen is the hammerhead or similar PCMCIA interface.

i donnno,

Power fried my MOTU?

sitting in the basement working and the power went out. I'm using a laptop with SONAR and a MOTU 828 MK1 interface. when the power comes back on my MOTU 828 starts acting real funny. For a little while it's just dead, not even speaking to the computer, then things are fine. We track 2 songs worth of...

Neutral Milk Hotel

After reading all the posts about "talentless talent" i started thinking about "In the Aeroplane Over the Sea" by Neutral Milk Hotel. The songs use simple cords, but sound amazing. The lyrics are honest and delivered in a way that I don?t hear very often. The recording style is better matched to the...

Re: A Manifesto About the Talentless Talent

Well I will always argue that you don't have to be good at your insturment to make good music. And I will forever adore creative music over technical. Some musicians get amazing at a chosen instrument and then loose all sense of actual creation. The music they make just becomes this mastabatory show...

Re: Complete Beatles Recording Sessions Book

Bought the book for my bro many years ago. Op board reminded me it existed and I looked on the shelf and the dufus hadn't even craked the spine. So far its an amazing read. Makes me listen to more beatles too, which is always a good thing.

Re: Rough mixes seeking harsh criticism.

the mighty cottonwood creek is awesome. reminds me of "the microphones". Sounds great. The acoustic guitar just swims with all the other sounds. Great lyrics.

Philosophy's ride/crash got to me a little after a while.

thats all. great songs.

Very fun. Reminds me of old bowie with more dream pop. I love the guitar tones. Quite spacey and the vocoders were a nice touch. Let me know if you ever come out to cleveland, cause I know the elephant stone guys are out here.
