Or maybe you do mean a low pass filter, since you have the other mic on the other head to get the attack.
In that case, just put the resistor in series and bring the capacitor to ground. Same cutoff frequency--just low-pass, not high pass.

Re: low pass filter design help?
First of all, you're talking about a high-pass filter. You want the high frequencies to pass, not the low ones. A passive high-pass filter is very easy to build. Just put a capacitor in series with the signal and then drop a resistor to ground. Your output is just after the capacitor. The 3dB cutoff...

Re: Drums in a corner of the room vs. middle of the room
I'm glad the TapeOp community is so helpful and ready to answer a question when asked. This messageboard has become totally jaded. All of the regulars have heard every possible question and only want to discuss bullshit. Unsuspecting newbies are unprepared for the hornet's nest of sarcasm. It has r...

Chicks don't dig messageboards. There are plenty of women that are into engineering, but they're just not interested in wasting their time obsessing over gear in an online forum with a bunch of dorks. Can you blame them?

Re: mixer power supply transformer is humming
I too am very interested in the answer. I posted the exact same question a while back and got no response. I hate this noise and I want to make it stop. I am a fairly competent d.i.y. tech, but I am too afraid of high voltage to mess around. Somebody must have an answer to this question....

Re: Recommend some mics for recording Acoustic guitar...
I've gotten my best acoustic guitar sounds from an Oktava MK-012, but I don't have any real high-end mics. Just the standard 57's, C1000, AT4033, etc.

Why do mics want to drive a low-impedance input?
I've never understood this. Why does a microphone need to see a load in order to work properly? I understand that their output impedance is relatively low compared to, say, a guitar pickup, but shouldn't they still work fine driving a very high-impedance load? One possible answer I have proposed to ...

This is not even on the same level as the grey album. Dangermouse is a real artist, and the tracks on his album are all seriously hot. That's why it has caused so much controversy.

To maximize the power of your amp, you want the amp's output impedance to match the speaker's impedance.

Buzzing Power Supply
Quick tech question:
The power supply to my Soundcraft Delta 200 hums ever so slightly when it is on. The only place this would ever bother anyone is in a recording studio but, well, that's where it is. Any thoughts on what to do to quiet it down? (i.e. which component to replace.)

Unfortunately I don't have nearly enough money to buy your studio. But your music is fucking awesome.
