Blue Mouse hmmmmm

This bad boy is a hot mic, and I mean hot! But.. Does anyone have trouble with the capsule overloading? Outer kick and bass amps just make it distort sometimes, unfortunately thats what I wanted it for! Mines the black transformer model. Got it here http://www.thomann.de/gb/blue_mouse.htm I had it a...

hanging your mic upside down helps reduce proximity effect produced by the chest. also +1 on good mic technique! Way OT, but gotta ask: if you're the Fakiekid, does that mean you track and mix "Fakey"? Do you switch positions with your right and left feet (the traditional skate/snowboard "Fakey"), ...

my mouse is cool!

outer kick, snare, floor tom, bass cabs are the best apps for it!

has a boost around 5k which on some vocalists can be harsh. the low end also can be a bit much on some vocalists.

its great tho, i love the rotating capsule!

I've always done that with room mics but never gated them, cymbals usually get quite nasty sounding in bad room mic positioning so gating it would only add to the annoyance of them popping in and out.

will give it a good try tho!

Thanks man. I have treated my home mix position, and when I'm in the studio that's obviously treated. My home monitors are only Samson Rubicon R6a's and I use a Zoom MRS1608 for recording into (which only records at 16bit!!). I think these are where I'm severely lacking but I need something ultra po...
