hello

I would be interested to the 2882, but I'm not interested to the +DSP license, you could sell me the card at 1000 and sell easily the +DSP at 500, what do you think?

thanks

how to control a boomy bass?

hello, i've deliberately made a bass boomy, because sounds more interesting. i've added a 2.2 db very narrow at 74 hz with a "air eq" i say that because is a very particular eq and 2.2 db of boost with the narrowest bell is a very big boost. well, i've done that because become more interesting, but ...

Quiet, intimate vocals will go over best in quiet, intimate rooms. You do have some control over what rooms you play in. As everybody says, low stage volume is important. More important (imo) is arrangement. When I think intimate vocals, I think acoustic instruments and pianos. If the drums are mak...

maybe i'm understanding what the problem is.. but if possible i need more suggestions, possibly practical suggestions.. to experiment with. what i know is that a whispered voice needs a lot of compression to tame the P-T-S transients in general because they are 10/15 or more db louder.. but doing th...

As far as equipment goes, Try the neumann live vocal mics, they are quite sensitive. Try a limiter / compressor plus an EQ after that, and de-ess er maybe (if you do ess a lot) Cheers thanks but could you tell me which neumann and which limiter/compressor and eq and de ess? i've tried with plug ins...

live vocals - how to get good results with whispered voices?

hello here is my story. i'm not a singer, but usually i write the vocal parts and lyrics and now i've decided to start singing live. honestly i think i haven't great problems with "standard tunes" or "loud/rock tunes" but i think i'm much more expressive with soft vocal parts.. i like the intimacy a...

ok, but yes i haven't said no bleed, just to limit it. btw i understood your concept of "make the bleed sound good" i hope to have the time to check it properly and to have a control room isolated enough from the drum kit and a good sounding acoustic in the control room to better hear phase problems...

ok, but considering the bleed is unavoidable, i think is better if i can reduce it as much as i can. i know that the bleed helps to sound cohesive, but depends a lot to the room. if i'm in the abbey studios.. well i would mic with only 5 mic and no close micing except for kick and snare (but even di...

okay men, i understand your points. but: hh needs its own mic, not because there could be not enough hi hat in terms of volume, but because it needs a lot of definition and isn't the most important part of the drum kit in that genre because is the loudest element (a lot of times yes) but because is ...

hi hat is very important in at genre.
the rhythmic isn't complex, but every elements need to be heard perfectly and separated.

honestly i like the drum with less mic, and probably we'll use only some mix, but hi hat is probably the most important element in that genre.

FWIW, I must say, the first time I used an 1176 it caught me out - took me a while to get the hang of the attack... compared the the mainly VCA units I'd used previously. could you tell me what have you understand of the 1176? i mean after a while you have get it, so which is the way you use it? ju...
