Good Tips
I do greatly appreciate all the feedback. I agree that the pickup sound is crap compared to the real sound of a guitar. I am doing this work studio now, and have one great microphone (RCA 44BX) and several other fair to midlanders. I really did misunderstand about the use of DI for acoustic. It alwa...

SATA Drives
Well, it's good to know someone had success with the 500g drives, Jim. I don't know about the SATA option, and the caddies which will mount them. Can anyone tell me where I can read more about this.

Need acoustic guitar pickup recommendation for recording
I am having some trouble with this one. I got my first piezo more than twenty years ago. I never really cared for the sound. But since I've learned more about recording, I have become convinced I achieve a better tone on all guitars and basses with a parralel DI signal.(Used w/Radial or Universal Au...

Theory ... and Reality
Thanks both of you. I've had that suggested by a gear dealer as well. That manuals for the machine clearly state IN THEORY the machine can handle drives as large as 2 terrabytes, But IN REALITY ... Anyways, 250g tops, you say? I'll order one that size or a little smaller and see if all goes well fro...

Anyone experienced w/ Alesis HD24XR???
Hi gang - not sure if this is the best category for this quest (ion), but it's certainly not a computer or DAW issue, so, here goes ... I'm having trouble with some new back-up drives for my Alesis HD24 XR . They were purchased from a reputable audio dealer to spec for the recorder, only 6 times the...

Opening RCA 44 BX
I recently acquired an RCA 44 BX. I have read many of the literature posts available on the web, but there's still one thing I'm unclear about. In order to check or change the voicing jumper, do I expose the ribbon? And if so, are there any special precautions I must take? (Like holding my b...
