No, there is no harm at all. Your dad was probably thinking you might plug in the speaker while the receiver is on, and cause damage to the speakers because of clicks and pops.

no, having an unmatched load just results in less power transfer, but as such is not harmful to your source.

Anyone has experience in artistic video collaboration? Success/Failure/Joy?

I've had that idea for some time. But my experience with ppl in the television world has been shit. I'd like to try it sometime just to see how much kick it gives.
