The guy just sounds like someone who doesn't have any background knowledge of audio equipment, and doesn't speak English as his first language, as others have said. But is it still ok to laugh at:

" i have a shure PG58. BUT I WANNA GET THE ONE THAT HUEY LEWIS HAS."

PEDANT WARNING (sorry) - they don't have lightbulbs. It's an optical cable, so the source of the light is whatever the cable is connected to.

Sorry

That what I figured but it sounds like it might have a pre delay of some kind? Yup, sounds like it does - and a lot of the low end/mids eq-d out. Nice n' light. That's one of my favourite records from around that time. There was a great thread on here about the drum sounds: http://messageboard.tape...

Hmm, I was in the market for an old Fostex sync/remote unit for my little E-16, now I might have to hold up my nearest bookmakers and get one of these

Re: Pedal steel direct inject?

Recording a pedal steel tonight. From what I know, pedal steels want big-wattage gutiar amos, and I've only got smaller-wattage amps here. Can I direct inject it like I would a bass into one of my pres' hi-Z inputs? Or will that not work? I play pedal steel and use a 500W Evans amp, the benefit of ...

Sans Amp Classic - i like to split the mix bus and make two mono passes through it. Nice flavour to mix in to a track when needed - keeps the highs and lows but adds a bit of life to things. I also kinda like using the audio input in my Novation synth (not a guitar effect, but..y'know) - absolutely ...

It's definitely a Goya - couldn't find another picture of one, but there's a picture of its 6-string equivalent on this page: http://goyaguitars.tripod.com/index1.htm It's the Rangemaster (second row from bottom) My band supported Cryptacize in the UK last year and Aaron uses one of these - it perha...

And you know it's overt when a Leithian notices! Are ye a trainspotter by chance? (I'm trying to be funny, BTW, not {too} insulting.) "Leith-er" surely?! Nah, i live in Canonmills, just a wee stroll from Trainspottingland. People from Leith like their consonants - mainly "f" "c" and...

Spotify has made a big impact in the UK. The sound quality is relatively good(and i HATE crummy mp3s) - the only downside is the adverts, which don't seem to be tailored to my listening habits, and are also much, much louder than the album you are listening to. You can indeed program playlists, and ...

re: s's and t's. I sang an end consonant once in 1988 while doing a backup vocal (it was the "k" at the end of the word "book"), and the other backup singer looked at me like I was some sort of moron. She had a few more sessions under her belt than I did. We re-did the take, with both of us singing...

Seriously, i'd wear one of those. Until i'd rotted the armpits right through. I picked up a 234 last year and love it. You can push the tape soooo much harder than a standard 4-track.
