Well, since I know a number of you are on pins (get it?) and needles for an update on this thread...here you go: So I got it wired up!!! Pretty much just went with Pin 1 on the DIN to Pin 2 on the XLR, and Pin 3 on the DIN to Pin 3 on the XLR. Of course Pin 2 of the DIN is ground, and that goes to X...

Yeah, what a trainwreck, right? You are dead on the money! It just hit me that I read posts where people ask (what I think) are completely asinine questions that don't really have answers, and people respond all day long!!! And then I post a very nice message requesting assistance for a soldering pr...

Nevermind, I decided to just bend the 5 pin DIN with needlenose pliars, just enough so i could JAM it in with FORCE to an XLR input. Ha, you know what they say, good enough for government work! HAaha!!! Then again, who really gives a sh-t, right? Do you think you're better than me? Yeah, I think you...

Ever wire a 5 pin DIN (B&O BM6 Ribbon mic) to an XLR?
Hi!
I found this schematic, but I don't know how to read it. Has anyone ever wired one of these from the 5 pin DIN to XLR?
Thanks for any help!
I keep running into trouble becuase I can't read a schematic with confidence.

It's all relative, really. I hope people start buying this tape. I hope people buy RMGI as well. I'm going to have to do my part and buy a reel of 1/2" ASAP. If sales suck...I don't think another company will touch tape. Why? There are much easier ways to lose money. So...if you like tape and want n...

Please help me identify this switch (w/ better pics)
Hi, (the better pics are in my second post below) This picture is from an Electra EP 550 Digital Delay. There are 4 jacks visible at the top of the pic. The one to the right is the input jack. The 3 to the left are, from left to right, Output (Delay), Output (Mix B), Output (Mix A). Directly in fron...

A couple quick patchbay questions - Otari/ADC
1) I'm currently making snakes for my Otari MX5050 8 track. I'm doing 2 different things, 1 set of snakes is going to be XLR to 1/4, in case I ever travel with the deck and want to interface with my Mackie 1604. I know the Mackie is unbalanced...should I use unbalanced 1/4 plugs? Is there any benefi...
