The turntable is pretty OK, but the USB connection gives you 16 bit 44.1 tops. And LP's really have better resolution than that. Buy a decent turntable and a good turntable preamp and you'll get better results....

Try SWR's workingmans 12 (older modell is better to my ears) 12 inch speaker. Use it for years already. B15 is also cool. And if you want really small (do it does not really rock) try a Gallien and Kruger.

To and/or from. It's 8 channels in or out per card. The D/A card dramaticly improved to sound of mixes. Actually I always found the 2 FX units built in to be pretty cool. I bought an SPX-990 when I got rid of the 02R just to be able to get that sound. Here more on apogee cards. http://www.soundonsou...

I used an 02R for about 8 years. however: I seldom used the preamps. These are probably the worst preamps yamaha ever made. However, plug in an ADAT card and buy a decent 8pre or 2 and you're up and running. I also used the apogee cards and this will really make this a cool desk for the money. You c...

Big suprise given' my board name, but I love it. Still no ADC, but mellowmuses ATA is OK. With 5 more insert slots that won't give problems with older sessions as well. I am not sure if it all sounds better. I do know that the Black Lion Mod I had done on my 002 made a HUGE difference. and one for t...

I actually do master all digital a lot (I've had collegues actually getting angry when I told them that :) ) and never use T-Racks. They distort easy and not in a nice way. I really like PSP Vintagewarmer which has the possibility for parallel compression build in. I kind of hate waves as a company ...

I started using PT8 some weeks ago on both PC XP and Mac Intel. I love it! It's pretty bugfree. Elastic Audio/Pitch is awesome and the new plug ins are great. I actually work with just the PT standard plug ins plus Altiverb and Masseys TD5 delay. That's it when you don't count instruments.(Native In...

This will also do the trick when you have the same problem with multitrack harddisk recorders. I got a bunch of files to mix and noticed the problem. The HD24 by alesis can be switched BUT you do need to enter after your choice. Otherwise the 44.1 or 48 led will keep flashing. The tech that handed m...

Take a look at earthworks new bar:
http://www.earthworksaudio.com/77.html
But I also had great results myself with the lid almost closed and AKG ALS 480 line with capsule extension cords or swivel joints. Also worked with their blueline which was great but not as good as the ULS series.

Small monitor like PMC DB1

Hi there, I sort of posted this elsewhere but no reaction so far. Question (with short story) to you guys is this: What kind of small monitor would you use/buy if it was a main monitor at a small studio. Story is this: I moved to a much smaller studio in a better area. My Tannoys or way to big now, ...

Hey AMelbye, Well, this is a quick reply isn't it? Thing is: I just bought a pair of DB1's some months ago and I am still wondering how good they actually are :D I'll explain: I moved to a much smaller place in a bigger town, and really could not place my big tannoy's anymore. So I started looking f...
