This feels a little noob to ask, but another question I have is this: Is it bad to run one of my own pre-amps through their pre-amps? Because all the interfaces I've seen either have too few pre amps or have pre amps on all 8 ins. I'd like to still be able to use my pre amps, and I'm not sure if thi...

I'm on a Mac (just got a MacBook Pro) - but I had been looking at the Presonus Firestudio. I guess I'm wondering if those are good quality or not. It sounds like you are pretty happy with them though. What do you use?

From what I'm gathering, unfortunately the two Motu's in my price range are missing specific things that I am looking for. The MOTU UltraLite-mk3 Hybrid seems to lack pre amps on all but two channels, though it has quite a few outputs, which is awesome. The MOTU 8pre 16x12 FireWire is somewhat of a ...

Help me choose a (cheap) interface!

Hey there! I've been working in ProTools 7.3 for years off of a mBox Pro. Usually, when I need something a bit higher of quality than a demo, we go to a local studio for the meat of the tracking, then add overdubs at home on the mBox. I then do the mixing myself. However, I would like something that...

Buying a new computer and transferring ProTools?

I apologize for posting this here - Avid has just about the crappiest Support site I've ever seen and I could not find the answer to what I would guess is probably a pretty common question. So I'm looking at buying a MacBook. We're getting to the point where our iMac is out of date and not supported...

I think part of what made the decision to master to vinyl fitting and interesting for me, was that they've also talked a lot about how this album was influenced heavily by a time in their lives when they listened to a lot of vinyl. Back before CD's were so big. In that context, I thought the choice ...

Tomorrow is the last day, and we're currently in third. I think we're officially throwing in the towel. I really, truly, genuinely appreciate all the support my internet peers gave me. We were in first for a hot minute! Thanks again.
