Hi. I admit, at first I didn't understand what you were saying, but now I do see where you're getting your numbers from and how your method works....but it is wrong. Well, as I said before, we aren't the only pro audio company that uses this method, there are several others, and Digidesign is an ex...

According to your logic, since the stock 003 added 15dB and the 003 mod only adds 12 dB, that means the modded 003 actually puts out 3dB LESS than the unmodded version!!! No. Once again, you're misunderstanding us. The Tweak 003 adds another 15dbV to the headroom of the existing stock 003 design (I...

The 15dB increase in headroom comes from Digi's own documentation. Since the output swing capability of the stock 003 is 6 volts greater than the stock 002, the increase is 15dB. 6 volts dB with a 1v reference is roughly 15dB. I'm sure you can do the math. If we increase output swing capability by 1...

OK 15 dB means the 003 has a minimum of 5.6 times higher rails than the 002. Unlikely, but possible I guess. I'm not sure where you're getting 5.6 times. Decibels are logarithmic. You can't simply multiply by a given number to get the answer. Since you're such an expert, Ned, here's a test of your ...

Wow, you guys are a pretty tough crowd to please!:) Where's the word clock I/O and option to sync to an external clock? We didn't include word out for a couple of reasons. There are many systems that won't let you sync to both wordclock and an incoming spdif signal at the same time. You're often for...

Anyway, I uess my point is moot according to the recent BLA reply. For two channels, s/mux would be overkill. We want to do some four and eight channel expansion units, and at that point we would use s/mux. Here's how it works: When analog audio is converted into digital, it actually exists as thre...

I only wish they would include SMUX optical I/O. Serial multiplexing (s/mux) is too expensive to include on a two-channel converter, especially since the technology to transmit up to 192kHz data rates via SPDIF and AES is widely available and inexpensive to implement. 96k s/mux requires that each d...

SM Pro sent me one about a month ago. I took a quick look at it, but one of my employees absconded with it and hasn't brought it back. It has two active outputs and one passive out. The passive out doesn't seem to like microphone preamp inputs very much. We tried it with a Great River, and it was pr...

I have the ART 2-Channel Tube Parametric EQ. Sounds pretty good.... Smile Hey..PuffPastry, any mods for it?.... I've looked at that design a little bit, Clinton. I think the thing that steered me away from it is that it took too much work to really get it to sound that much better. Unfortunately, m...

FS Mbox 2 Pro+Ignition Pack, $650
I have an Mbox 2 Pro for sale. It includes PT 7.2 plus the Ignition Pack software. I purchased it as an open box/demo unit from Guitar Center two weeks ago. The software has never been installed and the unit has never been registered. I'm asking $650 plus shipping.
