Is that some sort of horn in a case on the floor there to the right of the Gibson gig bag?
french horn. it's an old beater & i don't play like i did in jr high, but it's fun to record a few support notes & cram em into a mix once in a while.

But if you want exposure to, say, film mixing, or pop (whether you think it's cool or not) buying an mbox and a 57 isn't going to get you there. It's a nice philosophy, but it is somewhat narrow minded. my interests in sound are personal & not so much commercial. so for me, i'd get more out of reco...

The guy was (and still is) way above me "on the food chain". that's a given right? he's the one with the gear & the gig. I was a friend of his nephew, I think he felt obligated to let me come and try to help him, but he really didn't want me there if I wasn't going to be of any actual help. I have ...

i went with a novation xstation for controlling my laptop soft synths. for me it was all about having the soundcard built in & it's a standalone synth as well, in addition to a buncha knobs & sliders. i liked the akai controller but that would require another converter. for my desktop PC i use my ol...

He had me wash his floor (on my hands and knees) in one square foot patches, drying as I went to not create humidity. Anyway, when he finally asked my opinion on something I gave the most idiotic response. I can't even remember what it was, but I do remember the look he gave me afterward. so how di...

i have a Herman Miller Aeron @ work, it's great. i can sit in it all day.
i went with an officemart $100 leather exec chair @ home & it's nice, but not as form fitting as the Aeron, gotta get up & walkabout every so often.
