i think the a's are fine to definetly more quite than k's ... the problem is probly your room, or more accurately the placement within the room... try moving the drums around... the cymbals may stay at about the same level but in the right place in the room youll find the drums to be much louder... ...

I just got a royer stereo ribbon... Man, anything good you've heard is true, this thing is amazing... So far I used it as Overhead(s) for drums which it killed and then i used it on a piano and i liked more than any of my neumans on piano...
