this URL is your friend!: http://archive.digidesign.com/download/asio/ - I bought my 001 used 18 months ago or so, never bothered installing protools once I got this puppy running in Nuendo (and do I ever feel lucky I tried that first) but yeah, all running pretty sweetly on a P4 dual 3.2 (yupyup, h...

The Auto-Vari 64 is cool. I'm on my second one. Unlike some other machines the Auto-Vari will let you select multiple rhythm patterns at once, creating new variations and polyrhythms. man, though wouldn't it kick ass if some genius figured out how to get these boxes to midi sync. I'd be in heaven. ...

I was actually looking into getting the Hammond auto vari 64. I would think it sounds better than the TR 77 but I have no basis for that, except I like organ drum sounds. hmm.. been a while since I last used it.. it's totally got a solid snare & kick.. I do remember the "Shuffle" (boogie woogie) be...

I've never seen or heard that Roland TR 77. I didn't know they made drum machines in the horizontal style. man, if you get familiar with it you'll hear it all the time .. really obvious 77 is on "Corporate World" on the Fight Club soundtrack by Dust Bros.. the right side selector has these great sn...

BUH! THAT'S why it's called "flanging"! hold on while I run outside to save the office roof from my ensuing head explosion.....toaster3000 wrote:you could also have someone touch the tape flange on the supply reel for some wierd pitch modulation

Re: My window panes are singing.
hmm.. I had an idea just as I was walking home from work (heh, at my dad's glass & glazing place I've been at since 1996).. It might be an idea to get some pieces of 5 or 6mm thick glass that is as wide as the visible area on the window, and maybe 50mm high, and silicone fixing those to the middle (...

DVD has always freaked me out in regards to potentially hanging and skipping.. but yeah, Ratatat were using a DVD player plus 5.1 audio with great success.. using a portable dvd player with screen onstage to (I assume) cue tracks or see timecode.. (heh if I saw what was going on correctly) I just di...

man, let me tell you, the floor is totally underrated. heh, as a side note, I noticed to get here with my history in firefox, I type "mess" and press the down arrow key.. Even my subconscious is telling me something. uh seriously though, stackable plastic bins with rollers can be a godsend if you've...

Maybe someone would write a Linux driver for the 001 so we could use it with Audicy? man, I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to *nix... but I imagine it wouldn't be so tough to port/hack coreaudio to run in Linux, seeing as OSX is built on Unix ? Jack has been ported from Linux to ...

It is my understanding that changes to the code of OSX and windows service pack 2 won't allow for proper functionality of the Digi001 I call bull... I'm running my 001 on XP SP2 with the digidesign ASIO drivers in nuendo totally fine. heh I'd imagine the older windows builds of protools would be th...
