Thanks. I reckon I could hook up some ventillation fans that kick on when the monitors are powered--similar to the way PC's work. There's also a slider window behind the front wall they're soffited in (it's how I get access when I need to get them out for repair. I could think about putting a small ...

Active Monitor Failure
I've got a pair of older model Adam S.3.A's I bought used around 5 years ago. I've got them soffitted in my control room, which is in an unconditioned space. The soffit cabinets aren't totally enclosed, but they likely don't ventiallate all that well either. I've got some OC 703 in the cavities thin...

Yeah, that's the first thing I did when I found it wasn't working. It was the day of a session, and it was "crap, I'm not getting a signal from that mic." *runs out to swap cable "Crap, I'm still not getting a sginal; guess I really don't need this SM57 I'm using for a talkback mic." And then the 57...

What could go wrong with a dynamic mic?
I've got an Audio-Technica ATM-63 mic that I've used as a snare mic for years. Last session, it just up and quit working. I've opened it up and all of the connections look solid. I don't see any other components aside from the capsule. Is this thing likely DOA at this point? Any advice would be appr...

My take is that either optical cables aren't seating properly or something isn't getting the same clock source. So I understand; the 002 is getting it's signal off it's S/PDIF input; and the Rosetta 800 is getting it's clock signal off its optical input? If that's all the case, then it's likely down...

Thanks for the reply, Al. I had gotten new cables, the "better" Hosa ones. Maybe I should get the cheapies and see if I have better luck. Clocks are set correctly, thanks for asking! Have you ever found heat in the rack to cause clock errors? Cheers, Chris Yep, I had the Hosa ones as well and they ...

I never used it but checked it out one time quite awhile ago. If I recall correctly, if you click that box it opens up a list of all of your active tracks. Pick the one you want to use to trigger the compressor or whatever part of the channel strip you're using. The "side chain" input will be used t...
