Re: Mitigating RF interference?
I'm kinda going nuts. For years, my studio was in a downstairs home office, while I worked on getting my real studio space (a renovated upstairs spare bedroom) outfitted. Now I've moved my stuff in and the space sounds great, but ... *everything* with a wire has become an antenna. It's insane. My f...

Thanks Kevin. Well, I was hoping there was an alternative to the $25 ones, but so far nobody's said anything to the contrary. Sigh.... Would you be interested in a couple if I can get them? What do you think would be the most you'd pay for one? The greater quantity I can have them make, the cheaper...

Re: RCA Ribbon Stand Adapter????
Just scored a sweet old RCA 74B ribbon mic like this one. AEA has the 5/8?-27F to 1/2?M Pipe Thread Adapter (RCA Style) for $24.00. Anyone know where I can get one for a reasonable price or if anyone else carries them? What have others done to obtain them? Hi. I have a few old mics that require the...

Re: Mic Cases... anti-static?
Hi Folks, So I'm purchasing some Pelican cases for three old condenser mics, all with pwr supplys and I'm looking for some feedback. Firstly, I'm pretty convinced the Pelican cases are the way to go. I picked up one and gotta say, its pretty invincible. I got it with the "plick n' pluck" foam which...

Balanced cables get most of their ability to reject noise from being balanced. The two conductors in each pair have to be very close in impedance in order to do a good job of rejecting noise. The pairs have to be carefully twisted during manufacture. It's pretty likely that cheap cable is not as wel...

My interface does have a few line ins, but the 8 XLR ins are mic only. My real goal is to adapt some way from line level to the XLR mic input. I want to be able to transfer some of my analog 8track and 16 track stuff. A side benefit would be that I could run stuff live through my outboard gear and ...

I had a quick look at the technical doc on that unit. It looks like the 8 XLRs on the front are mic inputs only. There are two 1/4" balanced line inputs on the front and 4 on the back. It's best to use those inputs.

ok. cool. so this is a line level signal post preamp, pre power amp, right? Is this a compromise or is this standard practice? That's usually the case. Sometimes they take the line out before the tone controls and sometimes after. Some amps allow you to select. I have the schematic for the B115 and...

I currently am using an art passive di box as a aplit for the DI.
Can I use the line out as a DI on this or other bass amps as the DI?

Re: Portable hard drives
I'm looking to get a new usb hard drive so that I can easily transfer stuff between my Mac and my buddies PC. Any suggestions on quality brands that you haven't had problems going between platforms with? I've used several different brands: Seagate, Western Digital, Fujitsu, etc. and they've all wor...

I only need a thumbscrew/washer/collar for one side. Anyone have to buy a set but only use one side?? Or k...

Man, just send it to Clarence Kane at ENAK and get it restored. He'll knock it out of the park and you'll have a completely and totally awesome microphone. That thing looks great. I'm totally jealous of you! Chris Garges Charlotte, NC I sent an RCA BK-5A to Clarence for restoration and he was a goo...
