I think "oh shit" moments are essential to growing as a professional. That said, it also helps being under the wing of a more seasoned pro to see how they handle those moments. Personally, I try to handle those moments in the same manner the "old guard" did when I worked in manufacturing - calm and ...

Beautiful song. Nice open-ended conclusion as well. I noticed you opted for real cymbals with triggered drum sounds. I've found that cymbal performances in particular are hard to pull off using virtual instruments. - Anyways, great job on the music video.

I love articles like this. I especially like the ones like St. Cathrine's Court and Laurel Canyon Mansion - haunted locales and the like. That would be great to be laying down a track on location when you realize you also tracked some backing vocals from 800 years ago  Thanks for posting!

I have the Saffire Pro24, which I believe uses the same MixControl software as the Pro40. The only problem I've ever had was when I went from Vista 32bit to Win7 64bit; and that was because I overlooked some directions from Focusrite. My previous interface was a Presonus Firebox (died) -- so I can u...

@Brett Siler - Thanks! I could never get a definitive answer on how to put loudspeakers on a desk (decouple with MoPad type isolators vs couple them with mass). The faux-books coupling them to the desk seems to be working from what I can tell. @TapeOpLarry - No, not a downer at all. You're right, I ...

My top five in no particular order: Soundgarden's "Superunknown" - For the melding of world-influenced rock with complex sonic textures...Plus Kim Thayil's ridiculous guitar playing... The Soundtrack to Myst - There is something about this game's minimalist soundtrack that has infected my brain (in ...

Thanks CK! You're right in that I do need to do some polishing on the articles that are on the site. I am currently struggling with keeping them short and concise enough for people just starting out. I also need to add links to other sites that I've gotten info from, like RealTraps and the like. BTW...
