What light fittings for suspended ceiling??
Hello Tape-Op folks! I'm having a new rehearsal room built to spec which has a suspended ceiling using 600mmx600mm modular sound block.... however....I'm puzzled to know what to do with the lighting. Do I a) get modular lighting (but thus reducing the sound conditioning leading to leakage) b) get fi...

Hey! Were vocal effects put on the computer or did you mix it all down to a stereo channel on your laptop? Either way, sounds great! Dirty, early black keys....who did a couple on a 388 I believe?!? We have a 388 at www.notools.co.uk in the UK! We love it! I'll post some bits up soon. Keep up the ac...

Manual for Tascam 246?
Hi folks.
I'm finding it difficult to find a manual for my Tascam 246. Does anyone have a PDF they can send over? The Tascam manuals are really hand when things break.....and they have!
Cheers!
Joe

Thanks for the replies folks. Yes, I think I'm being far too vague spanning over 2 decades! 60's is the real vibe I would like to achieve. We have a nice live space to track a 5 piece sensibly, it's not a massive room (6m x 5m...separate vocal booth if needed) but is lively, have moveable baffles an...

Cheers! I've found the less on the drums are better. Using D19/4038 as the overhead and the D12 on the kick (by skin...looking towards the snare a bit). I wondered if there were any other techniques like that for guitar micing? Bands I love the production on are the Kinks, Small Faces, Zombies.....t...

Techniques & ideas for 60s/70s style recordings????
Hi folks I run a small studio in the UK and track to ProTools (6.4.2 via 888/24s....yes....old but steady!!). We run a modest amount of outboard and local bands are really happy with the sounds we're getting at a modest price. However.....I'm looking into getting further into the 'medium-fidelity/lo...

I've located the internal gubbins and have adjusted the tension arms....FF and RR work fine but I cant get the balance to get play to work still. I found this advice on another site Okay, so I was able to fix the problem. For me the process went as follows: Reel Servo Tension Roller Adjustment The f...

Re: DIY
Sounds to me like easy fixes (though I could be wrong). I used to own one of these and found that I needed to adjust the tension arms (trim pots located in the electronics) in order to get FF, REW and Play to work. Patience is all I needed, god knows I didn't have much skills at that time. Also, th...
