i'm in the middle of tracking the new London Souls record, and a huge part of the drum sound is a pair of m160's about 10' in front of the kit, and a 4038 over the drummer's right shoulder. in a room that sounds as good as our rhythm room, that's a drum sound right there. having some other mics up c...

FYI. this guy sucks. pulled this shit us, studio g, who knows who else on here.
first couple sessions he paid, then it got weird. apparently this is nothing new for him, so don't work with him unless you want to lose time and money.

1/2" OSB plywood was the first layer, then two layers of 5/8" sheetrock... the OSB was to ensure plenty of solid points to screw the 2x2 furring in for the OC703. also, with a number of barrel roll ceilings, it's crucial to be able to put a LOT of screws into a piece of 5/8" sheet rock when you're f...

drum room walls were about 2 days... not too hard, just had to get a good system together and have the right tools. after 6 months of carpentry, our chops are pretty together! the studio is fully functional in the a room... just doing finish work now. and it sounds absolutely amazing. the drum sound...
