I would get a stereo pair of either AT4047 or AT4050 depending on what sound you are after. I prefer an AT4047. Also, Shure SM81 sound really nice in a stereo pair. When a pup goes microphonic, this means that the a coil is loose inside the pickup. The wax that gets inside keeps this from being able to physically move around inside the pup.
