I would get a stereo pair of either AT4047 or AT4050 depending on what sound you are after. I prefer an AT4047. Also, Shure SM81 sound really nice in a stereo pair. When a pup goes microphonic, this means that the a coil is loose inside the pickup. The wax that gets inside keeps this from being able to physically move around inside the pup. The big difference between TS and TRS is grounding. If you are in a radio frequency rich environment, then you can get much less noise if you use TRS.
