im going to get my unit into the shop. that low end distortion thing is even happening with dbx on. i cleaned and demagged and it's still there. i think my unit is calibrated to different tape, or it just needs to be calibrated again (dude before said it sat for 20 years). adrian pro audio here i come

im having problems recording bass with my 388. i'm using a 69 jazz with flatwounds. no matter what the level, i get a farty distored tone to notes lower than A (all played on the low E string). i've never had this problem before. can the 388 not handle the low end? i've tried using active DI, passiv...

how do you get the effects in the effect send to be printed to the tape? i tried but they only came through in remix. do i have to have them in the access loop (send/recieve) to be put on tape? or am i missing something? also, for those that record without dbx, how much are you boosting the highs on...

how far from motors should you have your unit? i have mine about 4 feet from my dishwasher, is that enough? i've noticed that when i run both at the same time, i get noise and clicks/pops in my 388, but when the dishwasher is off, the noise/clicks/pops are gone. so i'm guessing i'm alright, just don...
