If you are in the south bay you HAVE to go to Guitar Showcase. They are in San Jose on Bascom. They've been around since the 60's and have a guitar vault that is worth many millions of dollars. They also have a consignment shop with good prices, and you'll never know what you'll find.

Definately stick with the stereo pairs. Omnis above the conductor, and a pair of cardioid flanks. Omni's would be better at the same height as the Mains. Cardioids for chorus. What's the piece? Do you know it? Have you listened to someone elses recording. You may want some sectional mics in the ense...

Only if they pay for it. Otherwise I would rather have a local mix engineer in each segment of the country do a mix that sounds right for the ears there.
