Just wondering 13 years later if anyone ever found a way to solve this problem. I would love to get or make a cable to get my Otari autolocator working with my MX5050.

Just wanted to chime in that I recently had the same issue on my 238 (intermittent stopping/resetting of the counter) which was getting worse and worse. By yesterday, I could barely play a tape for 2 seconds without it stopping on me. The thing was useless. A couple sprays of electrical lubricant up...
