I dig this tune!

As for the production, I think I would try to thin out the pad/bass thing going on. It's a bit thick, I think. There's a neat spooky, ambient vibe going on here but I think some space would do this track good. This will also allow the other instruments to come through better.

I have a 501 as well. It appears to me that the limiter circuit does not display GR on the compressor led meters. I think the only visual feedback is the single peak led right by the limiter pot. Just to be sure ... have you really pumped a hot signal into it to see if you can get the limiter to eng...

I sprang for the Sofiteque passive summing mixer. It's an 8 channel DIY kit. Easy peasy assembly. http://www.sofiteque.com/shop/pb8t-passive-summing-mixer-kit/ Having some routing issues at the moment. Channel 1 and 2 are not behaving as expected. They're supposed to be wired mono but they are retur...

Perhaps look used with that price range.

Monitors are a subject that has been hashed to death on forums like this. Do some more research. Lots of dudes use Rokits. Same with the Yamaha HS, Mackie's, etc.

Jensen JT-123 output transformer = $108

Carnhill input transformer = under $100.

Set of tantalum caps = $10

Amount saved = $1000

Sonic difference = not worth worrying about, unless you need 'the name' on the gear to sell your room.
