the good guys are crap they are expensive, take forever to get a job done, and milk the bench time i've seen work where they do band-aid repairs at THEIR discretion, to save the hassle of doing the real work when the CUSTOMER asked for the real deal...only to have to redo the job at the CUSTOMERS ex...

the "easier math" stuff is a myth. I'm shocked at how often in these threads people give the reasons for their preference and it HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HOW IT SOUNDS!!! Occasionally, you'll get some people who prefer the SOUND of one sample rate over another. But, more often than not, it's just myt...

depending on condition, around $1650-2000. early 60's are really sought out and can nab $2500-3000+. older 00-18s can go for $6000ish ('40s) and $8000ish+ ('20s). on the oldest ones, how well the inevitable neck-reset had been performed can really impact the price of the instrument.

I thought VHS was digital audio. Isn't it 16 bit 44.1. The tape, doesn't move all that fast, it's actually the heads that are spinning at a high speed, to read the data on the tape  Nice experiment, though. Interesting that it's high pitch. nope. vhs is analog, just like cassette tapes. dv and...

it takes a little patience to line them up correctly as the cards all shift a tiny bit making them difficult to line back up with the holes on the faceplate. more than once i have wished that the frame had little guide rails to keep the cards in place. that being said, what i do is take one end of t...

Re: Problematic Client

As for the original posters question, I think that you should try to keep a clear and detailed record of communications with your client going forward, and keep to the obligation as best as possible providing the client gives you the content you need. I would try to establish a reasonable timeline w...

I love my DMX. You can get it modded to have an extra set of EPROMS, doubling your onboard sounds. And you can swap in new EPROMS anytime. There is a guy, (and if I can find the info, I'll post it) who does the mods and also burns custom EPROMS, so an 808 kit is an option. That said, as much as I lo...
