Do you just need something for vocals? One mic? If you have an extra guitar or bass amp just use that with a direct box plugged in backwards (mic->xlr out of DI ->input of DI ->input of amp)

I agree, although the Joly mod really unlocked the hidden potential of this yo-yo.

There's a whole "school" of advertising that is all about just getting people to notice the ad. They don't really care that much whether it's creepy, funny, odd, crazy, disgusting, whatever. Just that somebody will be interested enough in it to post something about it on a messageboard. Mission acc...

Rode - Yo-Yo advertisement

1) there is something about the guy in this add that freaks me out. He looks like some sort of weird CGI thing, but kind of real at the same time. He has a super weird look on his face too. 2) I dont understand what exactly Rode was thinking with the whole yo-yo thing. The fact that they can afford ...

If your using Logic, I really like the Overdrive plug in on electric guitars. Leave the actual overdrive really low, like 2 or 3, than use the tone knob to shape each track - If you have them both up you can adjust the tone knob on each one to give them each their own space. I didnt listen to your t...

No joke, get it painted like a giant ice cream cone, you'll move it a lot easier. I dont know many studios who want a big "rob me" sign on their property.

...the greedy capitalist stock broker types aren't the only part of the problem. Being a greedy capitalist at the bottom of the chain is just as bad (though less satisfying I'm sure) as being a greedy capitalist at the top. I dont think people haggling for a lower price at Guitar Center had very mu...

If you got some cash too throw around: Non master volume plexi style Marshall, and a few different overdrive pedals will get you into NOFX land, but also a lot of other places. A little less: JCM 900 SLX - These heads are awesome for punk/hardcore type stuff. A lot less: Lead Mosfet 100 - Solid Stat...

I love love love the Embrace LP (post Minor Threat pre Fugazi Ian M), but it sounds so strange. I know that's probably how they wanted it to sound, but I really wish it was a little more natural sounding. I also really love the last two Party Of Helicopters LPs, but they both sound pretty bad. The s...

For Trade - Ramsa 8118 and Ampex 600 R2R

I have a Ramsa 8118 - 18 channel - 4 buss mixer. Awesome shape, everything works. Only problem is that the top knob on one of the co-centric knobs is missing. The pot still works, theres just no knob on the post. 18 pres, direct outs on every channel, decent eq, its a nice board. I also have an Ampe...

The interview with Greg Sage in the bonus articles area of the main page is pretty awesome.

One of my all time fav bands, and Greg Sage may be tied with East Bay Ray for my favorite guitar player ever.
