I had one of those mics. It was fun in that way that weird, crap sounding mics are fun. It was great out front of the drum kit and squashed to hell. Thats exactly what I was to use it for, smashed to bits drum mic. Maybe some other stuff too, I dont know, I need to mess around with them. If you pic...

Only the Pretenders should modulate up a whole tone in every song. Nobody else can pull it off.
The Ramones do this a lot. Its awesome.

The Focusrite has a digital out put, so thats definitly part of the price. If your not going to use that option than you dont want to pay for it. There is a lot out there for 800 bucks!

I typically favor back and fourth between a md421 and an e602. I have a beta 52, but between the e602, 421, and sometimes an re20, that thing has been collecting some dust. I have not been using an outside mic, but I just expanded my setup, and now have the inputs, so I cant wait to try!

I know Chris Walla is a huge Radar fan, but I think they do some stuff on tape. The last few times I saw them they toured with a rack of Distressors (maybe 4 or 5), so I can assume they are a big fan of those units in the studio as well. As far as the recording goes, this new one sounds the most "ge...

I use a program called Aptrigga. It works well on kick and toms. to avoid miss triggers i usually duplicate the kick track and set aptrigga to be 100% sample, than render track for the entire sesson. I than go through and just clip out any spare hits. It doesnt take long because you can eyeball it i...

Allen and Heath CMC?

I did a search and there was SOME info but not much. Anyone have an feedback on these boards. I have a chance to get one for 600 bones, worth it? My main concern is that it has this built in automation computer stuff, which isnt much use to me. If that shit breaks does the board still work?

I bought one of those yesterday. I figured why not, it was 130 dollars, and Musicians Friend is going to donate 10 bucks to breast cancer research as an added bonus!

Id rather find something that looks like that in my parents nite stand than a u87 or something...

I have been using Wave Burner. It comes with Logic, I dont know if you can buy it on its own. Its pretty awesome for what I do. Although I dont really do "real" mastering, just track breaks and stuff.
