Echo Audiofire 12 for sale. $425 shipped.
For sale is an Echo Audiofire 12 channel firewire audio interface. TRS in and out, 2 firewire ports as well as midi and BNC wordclock connectivity. I bought this around 3 years ago and used it at my previous studio location in Iowa. After relocating to Nashville about 5 months ago, I upgraded to a P...

Sytek MPX-4Aii $650 Shipped.
Hello all, I've not been around much the past handful of months, but as luck would have it, a personal issue arose and I'm in need of quick money flow. I need to move this asap- within the next week if possible. Pm's work, but I'd prefer a quick call if you're interested. I won't be too close to int...

Since you're already located in TN, I'd highly recommend contacting Matt Allen. He's a good guy with a stash of n.o.s. 3M parts, and the knowledge to get your machine up and running.

These are may be the expensive seats, but in my J. Mascis sig Jazzmaster I rewired it with good wire, good output jack, and nice pots. Took out the crap stock bridge and put a Tonepros bridge in there. The icing on the cake was dropping some Lollar Jazzmaster pups in there. It may have cost about $4...

That reminds me, Austin- I downloaded all your stuff 3-4 months back. So good- really inspiring stuff you're doing there. The cassette portastudio stuff in particular really hit home. Thanks for putting that stuff out. If you're ever in my part of the country, you have a session at my studio with yo...

Sorry for the belated response- I had a session yesterday and wasn't able to get on here... My studio is based around MCI gear- A JH16 2" 16 track, and a JH110A 1/4" machine both normalled to the patchbay of A 1976 MCI 528B console. My digital rig is patched into the bay as well, making for a pretty...

Actually, I bought mine over 16 years ago...It was in good shape, but things started going wrong and the capstan motor started acting up. I knew absolutely nothing about troubleshooting back then, so I drank the kool-aide and bought an Akai DR-16 standalone digital recorder. Used that with the mixer...

Sorry, I don't have anything to add here, but my very first multitrack was an Akai MG1214! I remember lusting after it at a local studio when I was 16 and some friends' band recorded their album on that very machine. Turns out it was for sale as the owner moved 'up' to the very first edition blackfa...

Re: 16hrs is mine
I had a 16hr tracking day with Sissy Mena. I love shoegaze music so I really didn't care that day. It was during initial tracking for their first EP "Young Girl". We had tons of beer & time. http://sissymena.com Anything above 16hrs, you can't even function right. The yawning becomes overwhelming. ...

I guess the only 'argument' I have about it is that in the re-purposing of an analog recorder in the process of making a record, it kind of takes out the fact that you're actually recording on a tape machine. I mean, it doesn't- obviously. The machine is still rolling tape...I guess what I'm awkward...
