Which one? I'd like to get one for a friend of mine...
I got it at musurgia in Brooklyn. It's also known as Retrofret. Killer shop. Great people.

Contact them. They may have more copies.

I've had good experiences with Mercenary, Sweetwater, and Full Compass. All three have been great.

I went back and reread your original post. Buzzy, Glitchy, don't lose the guitar when you stomp on it, not smooth... Then considering your price-range. Maybe a BYOC (Build Your Own Clone) of the Fuzz Face or the Tone Bender. They are very buzzy. If you want weirder I'd second a number of pedals alre...

I was also surprised by how much smaller this show was. I was happy to see (in the Vintage King booth and A-Designs booth) a reissue of the Electrodyne EQ in a 500 series format. I also liked the Chameleon Labs 500 rack format powersupply solution. A half rack wide thingy that a 500 series module pl...

The best advice is to try both and return the one you like less. Having said that, it's not always possible. I don't do that everytime either. I have a 19A19. I've never used the Sony. I bought the Lomo because I had heard great things about it and had an opportunity to get one from someone I truste...

I had one for a long time. It's been about 6 years since I sold it but it was WAY useful. When I had mine I found the VSPlanet forum very helpful. It's at www.VSPlanet.com There is a specific forum for the VS1680 although helpful information can be found in the 880 and 2480 forum. They share a lot o...

I would suggest taping off the pickups too -- they do attract the little filings that the steel wool sheds. +1 on this recommendation. I worked in a stringed instrument repair shop for several years and We always taped off the pickups. The filings go everywhere. You DON'T want them in the pickups.

Hey Wendy. Linus from Marques Bovre & the Evil Twins here.

Is that the same Scorpion that originally came from Smart (then Tom Blain had it)??

If so, Nirvana's "Polly" was recorded on that board.

The other benefit of artist tape: If you are switching between mixes you can peal off the tape and stick it to the wall until you need it again to touch up that songs mix.

The Skreddy Echo I paid for (in full) 5 months, 1 week ago finally arrived. I'm not sure I would have bothered had I known they were going to be so delayed. When I ordered it the wait was 3 months. As soon as they got my order they sent me an e-mail to say, Thanks for the order, it's gonna be a 4 mo...

I have a Whammy II and it does fine although it "sounds" digital in the sence that the signal sounds a hair glitchy/twitchy at times. You have to listen closely though to hear it. I like it for fake pedal steal sounds as well as octave dives/climes. I have a POG which is way better for chordal stuff...

You have pretty much described my studio set-up. I live in NYC and have a personal (read: hobby) space in Manhattan. I gave up on looking for "studio" spaces because they all fell into two categories: 1) an hourly timeblock rental (every Tues and Thurs from 7pm-11pm) having to pile up your gear in t...
