Re: firewire hard dirve
JES - I bought 2 of the Bytecc ME-320 5.25" cases. They're a bit loud but inexpensive and have the oxford 911 chipset. They also have the ME-720 3.5" case but I'm not sure if they have fans or not. Good luck on your hunt!

Re: Thanks to all you pros...
Agreed!!! This board is a wonderful resource for those of us trying to improve our skills and gain knowledge. Its refreshing to read answers to posts that don't say "Leave it to the pros, kid. You don't know shit." Its also great to hear what "non-pros" have to say 'cause we're in the same boat. Tha...

Bert - These are really great. The mixes were very well done. "Darkened Heart Vessels" didn't sound too "bottomy" to me. I'm listening on Alesis Point Sevens. I'd enjoy hearing some details about how these were done.

Re: firewire hard dirve
I agree with Whosmatt. Buy a nice 7200 rpm IDE drive (I like Seagate Baracudas) and a firewire enclosure. It'll take you 15 minutes to put it together and you'll save some $$$.

I write and record my music and also record church groups and local bands. I play bass in a rock\pop group. Cool to hear what everybody doe...

Re: Soundcraft Spirit M12, your thoughts please?
I've got the Spirit SX. Plenty flexible. Clean sounding. Good EQ. Great for a portable rig. I've had it for a long time and I dig it.

It all depends...
Nice'n'Mellow = Mazzy Star or Billy Holiday records
Freakydeaky = Prince's "Purple Rain"

Re: Help needed with an analog+digital question! thanks.
I've got an R8. It acts up all the time and I find myself taking it apart to "fix" it more often than I do actual recording on it. I'm mostly transfering old recordings now though. The crappy thing is that it's hard to find parts and service since Fostex doesn't support it anymore. I agree with ever...

That sucks! Sleep on it and "borrow" the parts from your bro. Good Luck.

Re: having a good weekend?
You can put the CD-ROM in the secondary port or set it to slave (jumper) and chain it off of the hard drive.

You're getting there. Make sure the drive is set to master and that no other IDE device is connected.

Re: having a good weekend?
I've never had to use a "new" cable with an "old" drive. Try it. It shouldn't hurt anything. You can also try swapping the hard drive and CD-ROM cables.
You can do this!!
