I can't think of anyone from whom I've picked up so little about gear yet so much about the craft, than Steve Albini.

Here it's a toss-up between
- Brainworx Amek 9099, where I find the EQ's Auto Listen feature an absolute time-saver.
- SSL´s own CS2...easy to use, sounds like you expect it to, AAND you can do that compressor thing (which the Amek can't)

Very happy tracking with a bunch of 500 format Great Rivers into RND551 EQs, here.
The GR's Loading switch plus four high-quality transformers in that combo definitely take you to a very familiar sonic place.
I haven't had a chance to hear it next to a real-deal 1073, but I don't really miss that.

What part of the new process do you have a hard time adapting to, what is it you're missing from your former way of doing things?
