Re: OSA mic pre...too short for my API lunchbox?

well, contacting osa customer support means calling or emailing dale, which I did today....sent an email and tried to call a few times and kept getting the machine...didn't leave a message. Since I've got a couple of new pres on order through atlas, I'm hoping that dale was sweating it out in the sh...

Re: just picked up an Art Pro VLA compressor...

very, very, very underrated. I'm not saying it's going to be a distressor or LA2A or anything, but very cool nonetheless. I use mine for crunching direct bass and love it. It does add a bit of something to bass and drum signals....wouldn't really use it too much for vox though, but why not, if you'r...

OSA mic pre...too short for my API lunchbox?

Maybe someone can help me with this...I just picked up a used OSA mic pre and it won't fit in my brand new 6 space API lunchbox. Am I missing something here? I took the lunchbox out of the packaging, took the screws off the front, slid the OSA mic pre in and the back just barely touches the edac con...

Re: Good inexpensive compressors other than rnc/Dbx...

I think there's a bunch of fun stuff. Some work well on one or two things, some are more like effects, but here's what I like:
ART Pro VLA
MXR Dual Limiter
Urei 7110
dbx 160x
some of the Symetrix units are nice. I've got the sx208 that I like with my sx202 for a mobile rig.

FS: Small Diaphram Condensers

Here's what I've got. Two each of the following. They aren't matched pairs from the factory, but in the used market, that's hard to find anyway. Sorta like twins. They might be twins at birth, but can start to look very different the older they get. Now, stepping off my soapbox....the mics.... Sold ...

Re: re-20 or 421?

Look at it like you're drafting for your own football team. You've got a few decent players, but obviously a few holes in your starting lineup. The draft is coming up. Don't worry about whether you should draft a running back before a receiver. Look for both and get the best deal available....meanin...

I have to ask....so, you're selling a trident 24 ch board, to get another sub $2K board? I would suggest looking for a deal on a used trident board....haha....but I guess you already have a line on one, huh?

Re: Why does everyone slam Neumann, but goes easy on some ot

I used to live in corpus christi and went to galveston last in about 91-92 around mardi gras. There were about three gang shootings on the beach....while I was there. No mas....that's it for me. Also, it's not so much the brown water that bothers me...it's the clumps of oil blotches that you have to...

Re: Why does everyone slam Neumann, but goes easy on some ot

Far be it from me to turn this into a discussion on global economics...i barely passed what econ classes I had to take in school, but isn't the price increase being justified by the weakening dollar vs. basically everyone else? Or are the mics going up in europe as well. Will some of our euro bros t...

Re: Why does everyone slam Neumann, but goes easy on some ot

This is what I thought...the answers are a bit mixed so far. We all totally agree that the older designs of neumann are great....even the newer stuff for that matter. But they do have some quality issues, i guess, as well as they're really high. Everyone seems to always bring BLUE mics up as a low c...
