wow...

...great info all the way around, but not exactly what I need. If someone could snap pics, draw a diagram, or even just describe the connections (color codes especially!) of the wiring from the amp to the reverb to the speaker (this wire comes from here, goes to there, that sort of thing), I'd be et...

'66 Fender Mustang, Maestro Drum Machine, Roland sh-09 FS

'66 Mustang w/ OHSC. Old pro refinish, dark Burgundy Mist Metallic, added (useful) 3-way toggle. VG shape, couple of small dings, and otherwise all original. I'd like to get $1200 for it, which seems reasonable given some of the similar ones I've seen for sale of late... '60s Maestro Rhythm King Dru...

INteresting...I'll check it out. I think converting to a permanent-magnet speaker wouldn't be TOO hard; I think mostly it's an issue of finding an appropriate transformer. Maybe something roughly equivalent to what's in a Vibrolux or something would work?

Yep, this one is field-coil, which is what's such a pain in my ass! I found a schematic (non-reverb), wired it that way, and still, nothing. The fella I got it from said it was not only working but it was kinda hot shit before he yanked the speaker to have it reconed (and didn't mark the wires!). I ...

Yeah, that's definitely a major consideration, that ANYTHING that can make any kind of noise, the plate will pick up. Clean signal and isolation are paramount. Actually, if you read up on and check out the ones they build, http://www.platesonics.com is pretty helpful. hell, if I could afford one, I'...

Hammond M2 speaker wiring HELP!!!

Got an early '50s M2 for free, with a nice, shiny reconed speaker. Awesome. Not awesome- no idea how to wire the speaker back in! I found a schematic, but it doesn't account for the later-added reverb...

visonix ghost= the shit, for reals. I'm trying one attached to the end of a long plastic tube, with a spring attached internally at either end and filled with water, with a pickup at the other end. So far it's been cool, but I haven't perfected it yet. Also, check out my yappin' on another thread he...

oh yeah...

An old friend and veteran engineer recommended trying a bunch of high-quality turntable catridges as pickups; apparently one of the "pro" studios here in Kansas City has/had a homebrew plate that used these to good effect...

I built a smaller and intentionally somewhat trashy "ghetto plate" (thanks to inverseroom for the name, which is perfect and has stuck) a couple of years back, with some pretty good results, and am working similarly on building something bigger and actually nice. I tried using several different thin...

Not sure, but I believe WaveLab has a Stocktronics plate- I'd guess that'd be the sound in question.

Recently acquired a pair of these machines. Can anyone post a pic of the tape path for these? That'd be swell, and much appreciated. Thanks!
