DX stuff was better used in other kinds of old music (e.g., the bass sounds in Detroit techno; Autechre). You can make those machines do a lot of wild stuff if you're willing to program them -- which most people aren't.

I PS: And what's she talking about "it's not that much more expensive"? I love tape but it's at least $75/reel for 30 minutes of 1/2" tape which isn't even close to the cost of 2".
