these vic firths work well for drummers and other players, for your monitoring they are not so good. but for the people playing they isolate well and they are inexpensive.

Re: speaker as a mic problems
im sure its not the pre amp it was set really low and even if i ran my finger across the cone lightly it was making those noises. i did notice when i was moving the stand it was on around the "moving stand noises" were what i would get from a normal mic. im not sure if that even matters though. the ...

Re: Yet more mixing board advice needed
I'll jump on the tascam band wagon, i use the m-50, i like it. i use it with my tascam 8 track. pretty much everything dave already said about the m-30 except its 12 channels, 8 busses, sweepable highs, inserts on all channels. the VU meters are very flexible as well. you can patch something into th...

speaker as a mic problems
i just wired up a speaker to use as a mic but when the signal comes through it sounds like it went through some kind of synth. the signal isn't clipping it even sounds like this when touched lightly. i recorded a few seconds of me hitting the bass drum with the speaker in front of it so you can hear...

Re: Studio Projects C3 or AT 4050?
ive got a c1 and the 4050, and love them both. im assuming the c3 sounds some what similar to the c1. i actually use the two for drum over heads sometimes. the c1 is colored but its definitly not a bad coloration. I agree with what eeldip said. get whatever you can for a good price.

Re: The collest thing you learned from tape op?

Re: to rent out a home studio or not?
