Re: The 20 Year Rule
20 years for technology, especially this day in age is a long long time. As technology gets more advanced it also changes faster..the LP record was used for like 70 years. the CD has only been out around 14 and it will/is slowly be replaced in the next few..thats kindof scary actually, the cd is al...

Re: Misconstruing Albini
god damn that pitchfork review of Let Go is so fucking infuriating.
they even had the balls to claim that bryce goggin 'ruined' crooked rain.
meanwhile they're giving serious thought to 'mashups' and sucking the dfa's cock until it bleeds.

Re: Best D.I.Y. Neve Kit (complete) ?
i dont have hangups with the looks factor, my issues with diy'ing the chassis come down to shielding (i was thinking a plastic case for cheapppness) and mounting of the power supply. i'm too afraid my jury rigging of the power sup. would fry something or someone.

Re: Best D.I.Y. Neve Kit (complete) ?
directly comparing the vintech 2ch to the sca 2ch is a little misleading, because alot of the initial hump of the sca unit is the chassis and power supply (like half the price). once you get that, you're getting api and neve modules for 3/4 hundred bucks a pop, and with 8 slots to spare. if you diy'...

Re: xtc drums and wires,,,, bass chain
dave gregory is a major major guitar geek (in the nicest sense of the word) and has a very detailed website about his collection. although, yea, colin played bass and all, you could probably email dave and ask. i picked his brain about amps once, he was really cool.

Re: Blood Sugar Sex Magic and your F you indie spirit
I believe the last NIN was recorded in a house (the Sharon Tate house,) also, although obviously heavily edited. Downward Spiral, yes indeed. Although alot of the drums were recorded in other studios, individual hits edited and resequenced, layered, etc. The drum breakdown in 'piggy' is one instanc...

Re: Blood Sugar Sex Magic and your F you indie spirit
i think the chili peppers have some ok songs (they are most definitely a singles band) but their album tracks are sheer nonsense. kedis approaches gangsta wannabe levels of misogny and just straight up retardation, and flea bass-shits all over the place, ughh. he's kinda retarded too, in the booklet...

Re: Pacific Pro Audio Ribbon Group Buy Instructions
just to clarify, i'm not out to shit talk over two bucks. the 'loophole' pricing was a new development, the original breakdown clearly had surcharges as part of it, and that, will several other factors, just turned me off as i said. being cheap about two bux didn't break the deal for me, busting eve...

Re: You know what sucks?
the first couple chicago records have some of the most balls out best playing, ever. it's a damn shame that shit was filed away with other 'am gold' stuff at some point. 'free form guitar' makes sonic youth look, uh, youthful.
