so i tried the new drivers as well as checking into the power saving options. i also added extra buffer just in case but the clicking/popping/distortion keeps on happening.
any other ideas?

Pro Tools 8.0.5 Windows 7 psuedo clocking jitter
hey all, i'm hoping someone can help me with this issue. i recently replaced my laptop and moved on to Windows 7. I got Pro Tools 8.0.5 successfully installed and was ready to record. When I started tracking I noticed distortion and digital artifacts that resembled jitter that would occur from a clo...

Phase question
I understand the idea of phase relationship. The idea that a sound wave caught at two different spots (mic placement) can be destructive depending on how the physical wave is shaped at the two spots. I was under the impression that when using a DAW you could physically move a track to line up with a...

Re: For the parents on this board: Logistics question
Wow, I thought i was the only one in the whole industry that had a family. I acutally got into this after my oldest was born, and sometimes I wish someone would have warned me about the amount of time and money i would need to spend. when i was working at a studio (as well as having a day job) it wa...

Re: Nuendo at sample level
Thanks for the advice, I will have to check your suggestions. I haven't been able to absorb the program fully, I guess it just takes a different thought pattern than mine. As far as the editing, what I mean is simple stuff like copying and pasting a selection... I really don't like that you can't bo...

Re: You know what sucks?
On the original topic, sometimes the out of place stuff can be charming. Although I once had a business partner who thought that Pet Sounds sounded bad because of the tape hiss, and when I told him I was impressed by Death Cab's Photo Album record he told me he didn't like it because it was too quie...

Nuendo at sample level
Hey, I'm trying out an older version of Nuendo (1.6 i think) and was doing some editing, and when i got down to the sample level everything was squared off (not just at the top and bottom, but all the way up). I'm wondering if this is a natural display thing with nuendo, or if this has something to ...

Re: Equipment you HATE but everyone else seems to LOVE
I hate computer monitors. I hate how they distract from listening when mixing, and I hate to watch people doing eq by drawing what they think it should sound like. If I could have my way, I would only ever have them on when I'm editing. Screws monitors, I fantasize about the scene in Office Space wh...
