Re: The New Mackie Onyx - well, they look cool...
i'm listening to them right now. I'm throwing music from a cd through them. More times than once i have noticed new sounds in mixes i am quite familiar with. The board actually makes Samsons 65a monitors listenable. Real smooth high end, lots of air up there. The eq is real nice and natural sounding...

Re: Tom Petty/Rick Rubin vox
A good kit, a good mic, good placement and a good room can yield fantastic resullts. If it is one mic theres definatly some delay on 'em, theres more than just room sound goings on. maybe.

Re: Alesis 3630 compressor
I sold mine for 60 on ebay - Kinda wish i still had it- nice to have gates- the 3630 gates are kinda iffy most the time, that also had alot to do with bad vocal technique or whatever. The RNC is very nice and Eureka - but both lack gates.

Re: Best way to spend $
RE20 is by EV and its five times more expensiva than a 57- Great mic, gotta have one. Gets the meaty goodness from guitar and bass cabs like none other- quite excellent on certain vocals.

Re: AKG C1000S does anyone like this mic?
If you're four tracking- these are the mics to get. Battery inside for Phantom power. This was also the second mic I got, pretty much. First condenser thats for sure. They are a bit brite they can give you a nice mellow tone on clean guitar. For distortion i would mix in a sm57 thou. I have a pair o...

Thee Tascam SX-1 and all it's glory
So have you heard anything about this machine? Every owner says this machine is u.i. and routing is unreal. Compared to other "all in one boxes" the sx-1 clearly more professional. I've been researching this unit for over 2 years and I'm finally getting one. What other computer based product can i s...

Re: Ambient delay pedal
none of these pedals have the feeback feature the memory man has , where the echos keep going and building of each other. Get the memory man, no other pedal like it. Its worth every penny. EH has never done me wrong.

Re: Neutral Milk Hotel
I am curious to hear that album in mono. it sounds like to layered guitars would just disappear in mono. Yes that album is great and the first one was mostly done on a cassette four track. The vocal sounds on aeroplane album are tremendous as well. I would give anything for another NMH album.
