Re: Oddbal Microphones that kick ass
I have an AKG D3600 dual diaphram kick drum mic. It has a small diaphram that faces forward and is back to back with a large diaphram that faces rearward. the two diaphrams are summed together into a single output. Actually sounds pretty good but I am sadly selling it for xmas money.

Re: usb vs. firewire vs. pci
I have an mbox and while it works a well as I could hope it is slow and limited in how much data it can transfer at once. I imagine this to pretty much be the cas with any usb 1.0 device. I have successfully used the mbox for a/d/a outside of protools however.

Re: Any Cheap Distressors?
Great to hear that there are some affordable alternatives to the Distressor, especially since I'm really finding it hard to get a nice pushed, distorted (not metal) guitar sound recorded to hard disk. Any other ideas for a poor man's Distressor? I have been running my guitar through my Pro Mpa into...

The waves rennaisance reverb is the one I like best of the ones that I have used. UAD also makes an rtas version of their RealVerb which sounds decent and has a "fun" interface.

Re: Ripped off on EBAY: Is there something to do??
I got ripped of once for about $20. No replys to email etc... At about 25 days I contacted paypal and filed a claim. In about a week I got my money credited back(less shipping). 30 days is the cutoff for claims.

Re: CAD Microphones
I have a pair of m179's and an m9. The 179's work well for most uses, but the m9 is much better on vocals. Love all three though. Got rid of a Rode nt-1a to get the second m179.

Re: T-Racks "multiband" limiter
I'm confused. How is the T-R MBL not multi-band. Are there not three distinct bands separated by two variable crossover points. I realize the T-racks package is hobby grade, but it is very quick to setup for simple duties and chews less processor than the waves c4. The soft clipper is also great for...

Re: RCA for SPDIF
I have been using a niceish quality "yellow" rca video cable to bring audio from the vs840ex into my DAW. It sounds great so far. Again, being that this is a video cable, and a nicer one at that, is it probable that the impedence match is pretty close to what it ought to be?[/list]

Any word on exactly what components were at issue? Having bought a new M9 in the last 6 months that is indeed unsettling.

Re: Anybody know what kind of epiphone this is?
Ya know I think maybe I was thinking of the gibson victory guitar and not the epiphone at all. Oh well it has been like 20 years since I played it. Here is a link to one if anyone is curious.

Re: Anybody know what kind of epiphone this is?
Seems like I remember epiphone putting out something similar about 15-20 years ago called the Victory. I saw Ray Davies playing one on tour once and played a few in a music shop. Those ones definately said Victory on the headstock though and this one looks to be more recent. Dont remeber much else.
