Re: Cellphone ringtones

My phone isn't equipped for downloadable tones (though it DOES have Mussorgsky's "Night On Bald Mountain" which I've set as my main ring tone, I LOVE IT!!) However, if I get a new cell phone, this is what I'd love to have on it: 1) King Crimson's "RED" 2) The 1960's Batman Theme or the scene change ...

Re: Blender mag's 50 worst songs ever

I for one would love to hear a band like RUINS or Venom take a thrash at "We Built This City"

Definitely deserves to be called the worst song of all time (as was ANYTHING the 80's Starship and Chicago did, WIMP CITY!)

ART Processors - - Any Good for Recording?

Just the other day, my housemate and fellow musician whipped out a late 80's vintage ART multi-effects processor that isn't getting much use. I'm thinking of buying it from him for home studio use. My question, are there any really good or usable patches on these things in general (just can't rememb...

Re: Fender-type or Gibson-type?

Definitely a Gibson or Gibson derived guy here. My absolute fave is the SG and also the ES-335 with its pronounced mid-range "HONK" as it were. The SG has a nice top-end bite and a slightly nasally sound that's actually pretty cool. Plus, it's light, easy on the shoulder and just looks so sleek! In ...

http://www.furious.com/perfect/graphics/magma-logo.gif Take one ridculously gifted Elvin Jones-influenced drummer, stir in late-period Coltrane, Sun Ra, very early Weather Report and Soft Machine, add a dash of Wagnerian opera and Carl Orff choral writing, season liberally with spooky angular melod...

Re: Guitarcissism

That whole gold hardware thing is so useless I can't believe it! Heck, the stuff wears off over time anyway and it sure doesn't make your axe play or sound any better!

Just give me some good quality hardware that works right and keeps it in tune, I'm perfectly happy.

Gotta love these: http://www.diamondstrings.com/fen%20green%20performer-1.jpg Has anyone actually seen someone playing one of these things? Has to be one of the ugliest guitars Fender put its name on. Jeff I have NEVER seen anyone playing one of these evil abominations. Man, I must say the 80's was...
