Re: dooley or sank? reribboning
i thought that sank doesnt replace beyer ribbons with the same type of ribbon. wouldnt that explain why they sound different after he's done his thing? yeah he replaces them with RCA ribbons. for the beyer m260 it's replaced with the same ribbon as an rca dx77. and that's why I want to send it to s...

Re: HSayz: the Return of the Lo-Fi
Even "indie" bands are starting to sound all glossy and perfect. And they have very organised hair too, it's all pretty stylised now, and in a 'pro' way, not a home-made dressing up way. Shame. Can't explain why exactly, just seems like a shame. The reason why I think it seems so lame is tha...

Re: does anyone know of a website where i can....
Most fender serial numbers have a letter which stands for a certain decade and then the first number after the letter is the year from that decade. I know that Z stands for 2000's, E for 1980's, and i think it's N for the 1990's. Example: N673458 would be 1996. If I am remembering this correctly you...

DBX 118 Question
This guy on ebay claims to own some dbx calibration equipment for calibrating the 118 so it is just like the 160. Think it's just a crock?

Re: DBX 163x
Is there any difference between the faux wood 163x and the newer looking black one? The newer one appears to have a DI input on the front. Anything else different?

Re: HSayz: the Return of the Lo-Fi
lo-fi is kinda stupid to me considering we are in the age of digital. Why make things sound lo-fi on purpose when you can make them sound halfway decent? Lo-fi isn't a type of music, it's what the recording sounds like due to recording restrictions. I guess i'm not into the layer 400 things with di...

Removing a Tube Amp from my old wurlitzer?
Does anyone know anything about removing the amp from inside my wurlitzer so I can use it for guitar or bass? The only inputs on it are 2 RCA jacks and they are labeled treble and bass? Think I could just plug an instrument cable into one of those? I haven't tried anything because I am scared of get...
