I did, but I don't know enough about the technological side of the machines to answer your question with any confidence... I just pushed the buttons and played...

My guess is, if you just want the stereo, they record it directly to stereo, thus no separate tracks... So, if you want the individual tracks, it would be more work, albeit not much more...
