Re: Home Recording 101?
Not that there's much to add after Joel's and bobbydj's posts, which were both excellent in completely different ways, but to answer your specific questions: Maybe a Digital Recorder or a friends computer? If you've got a friend that's got a computer and some software that you can play with, that's ...

Re: help me find a thred

It seems that the story spread very quickly acrosss a lot of weblogs, but it's hard to find a citation for the original article. At least according to this guy's blog. Hope that hel...

Re: Gardening is Hella Cool!!
I've got wormwood plants on the way as well. Not only do they do a good job keeping critters out of the garden... wormwood tea is a great high. Isn't wormwood what absinthe is made from? (And isn't it really bad for you...? :) ) Composting is fun, too: it's like gardening in reverse. And it's easy....

This may not be relevant to your situation, but may provide some guidance. A few years ago, I was laid off from my office job, but came back to the company to do some work on a contract basis. An HR person gave me the following rule of thumb for calculating an hourly rate: figure out how much you ma...

Yeah, that whole album is a showcase for Bruce's playing. I love how he's all over "Love For Tender."phalex wrote:I don't know, but I like how loud the bass is. Bruce Thomas is a fucking genius bass players.
Can't figure out that snare drum sound... it's so weird.

What is this drum sound?
Any Elvis Costello fans?
What is gong on with the snare drum at the beginning of "B Movie" on the "Get Happy!!" album? It's like a weird slapback, but...not. Is it a compressor or gate with a really slow attack, that opens up again to pass the reverb/decay?
Thanks...

Re: Urine Smell: How to get rid of it on elecronics?
I'd say dismantle as much as you can and wipe all the non-electonic parts with a weak bleach solution. When weather permits, leave it all out in the sun for a day or two (bring it in at night) - sunlight is a great disinfectant. I had a guitar amp that lived for several years in damp, drafty rooms i...

This thread is bold!
(That's one that caught on for about a minute when I was in seventh grade. I use it to annoy my bandmates.)

Thank you! That's so much easier than trying to describe it in text. (Through Brian and jca83 did a pretty good job.)
