This is what I thought about it - I know my equipment well, and I know how to make it sound good. I've often recorded in big studios and chosen my equipment over what they had. I don't think the cleanest option is always best. I don't have anything fancy, but what I have isn't noisy and is all prett...

So... I'm about to start recording someone and he's being a bit of a pain about the gear I have. He only seems to want to use Neuman microphones and today talked about getting hold of a standalone A/D converter. I have never really considered AD conversion... my soundcards have always just that that...

So in summer I recorded an album in a barn in the south of France. We used 2 mics placed high up to get the ambience, and various mics up close in different combinations (lots of old taxi cab mics etc). Anyway... some songs were aborted. This one song's demo I have recently rediscovered, and I feel ...

It's a pump organ that was used in the fields of the wars. It folds in to a suitcase, but still has bellows and everything else you'd find on a grand old pump organ, just smaller.

That's really cool. Sounds like a broken valve. It's definately not too compressed - it sounds even but not everly done.

I wouldn't change a thing.

What did you use to distort the tape? What is the synth or whatever you used on it?
